The recent trip to Bicol we had about three weeks ago gave us a chance to discover a lot of things we need to improve on our car. Even on the very first trip to Bicol we had early this year, my Uncle already noticed that we don’t have enough light when driving along provincial road because we are only using 55W bulb installed on the car’s headlight.  I guess we had had enough difficulty three weeks ago when we were caught on heavy rains along the roads of  Atimonan, Quezon.  We ran at 10kph while we were totally blinded by the heavy rain fall.  Finally, Rey gave in to change bulb to a higher wattage and what’s more important is we are using the yellow lamp/light.  This type has the capacity to penetrate lights even on heavy rains.  Having full tinted windshield affects visibility too, from the inside of the vehicle, but  Rey stressed he does not want any changes on the tint and I can put up with that.  I feel safer now knowing we have a nice bulb that will not allow us to have a betterview along the road.  We certainly don’t want any accident to happen.

Along the road, my Uncle were giving me lectures left and right about prioritizing safety along the road.  Finally, when I told Rey about bad our experience during the heavy rain, he gave in to upgrade the bulb of the car.  I got a really nice brand of bulb for the headlight from atv power steering website.  They offer different accesorries for heavy duty vehicles which you can hardly find at supermarkets.  The bulb we need was shipped out in no less than 24 hours.

Welcome home, Baby.  Promise, I wont hurt you again!!!

The car finally got home today after a nice repair from the auto shop.  Comparing the car from its old photos here, it now looks clean and brand new and beautiful.

My Car Wreck

Now I know how it feels when your car gets damaged and its not a good feeling.  Not something that will make someone proud.  But after making myself feel dumb, I made sure I picked up best lesson in driving.
Rey was very supportive, he never said anything to make me feel worse but instead took care of fixing the mess I made.

Its him who secure a schedule from Toyota’s local mechanic to have the car fixed.  He even told me that I should continue driving to enhance my driving skill.  This time our car is still in at the auto shop and its going to take a week more before we can get her back. I should have heard of this motorhome repair so we can have the car fixed at home.  Maybe it should take shorter time to fix it. I don’t know, I just thought of it, I am sure Rey would insist that we get the approval of the car insurance company before getting something for the car.  I feel sorry for my mess and I hope and promise not to do it again.

Our vehicle is barely a year old now and I can count on my right hand only how many time Rey cleaned his car by himself.  I am sure its not more than five times at all. Its not that the car never get cleaned at all but i think someone cleans it for him in his office.
I don’t have any problem with that, but my issue is the interior of the car never gets cleaned as its supposed to be.  I can’t help but notice the car interior so dusty on a weekend.  And because last week was a long weekend (due to the back to back holiday in UK and PH) I realized I have been barking at Rey regarding the interior of the car.
Luckily, I came across this chevy astro custom floor mats and basic tips on car cleaning on this website. Rey loved the mats and mags and is willing to commit to keep his car clean in and out just to get the mat free from me.  I wont be ordering the mats until he proves to keep his car clean until his birthday next month. He will take care of getting the mags himself.  Last time we inquire its price from our local supplier, it costs about Php 50K.  whew!!!

I didn’t know that there is such a thing as “Law For Tire Chain Use”. This is not very much known in the country where I lived and I was intrigue about it when I first bumped with in when I was doing a research for a nice tire for our car.
Rey is so inspired to customize his car, last Sunday, he consulted our of our local tire dealer and we were surprised that it will cost us Php55,000 to change the mags of the car. My initial thought of costing us about Php 20,000 is a foolish idea. I hate to know that its really that expensive.
Anyway, going back to the Law For Tire Chain Use. I learned that this is being implemented in the States during winter season, mostly December until March. Extreme cold temperature often results to ice crytals especially in shaded areas and this may result to slides when vehicle are on the road. Check this helpful website that, its really fun reading.

Just to give you an idea  how tire chains are…

One of the best investment that Rey and I had for 2010 is his new baby, the car that we bought after our birthdays.  I never thought in my whole life that I will experience having my own, or our own car as early as this.  We are happy enough being able to make both ends meet until we finally realized that its time we move in to our place in Laguna.  And since we both work in Manila, we need to have our own transportation, especially me who have the most irregular schedule at work.   There’s no means of transportation anymore in Laguna by past ten pm, yet my office hours is between 3 o’clock in the afternoon up to twelve midnight.

We initially planned to move in early this year, at least within January.  That is why I need to learn driving as soon as I can.  Unfortunately, Rey and I have no enough time to practice, not the mention the tight schedule during the holidays.   Not only driving lesson is what I need. Its a necesity to learn about traffic rules,  road signs,  road maps.  Not to mention basic trouble shooting, basic terminologies that has something to do with vehicles.  I am getting overwhelmed just by the thought of it.  Cars and driving are something I am not prepared of.  Unfamiliar words like  chassis, stencils, brembo and what ever you may call it, scares me a lot.  I’ve heard of them but I do not have a very good explanation of what exactly it is.

I hope Rey’s baby cooperates with me well.  Here she is when she blessed in Antipolo church.

Tomorrow would be an exciting day for my husband Rey and his siblings.  Since we do not live anymore in Antipolo, getting together with his family is something to look forward for him.  Our move in Cavite is the very first time Rey stayed away from his family, ever his first.

Rey is now at work, but after his work tomorrow morning, Gab and I will meet him at Megamall and head on home to his family. Another thing that excites him as well is light blue 1.3E Vios that he took away from Toyota garage earlier on, we will have it blessed tomorrow at Antipolo church.

I can imagine how his brother and sister will prepare for this event, its seldom that get together now so for sure food will overflow in the table.   Good thing I have my phentermine diet pill always available in my bag.  The kids will surely enjoy too, Gab, Matthew, Yma, Cali and Jay jay will have a good playing time on Sunday afternoon.  We will spend the evening at my sister-in-laws place because its a no-work day for Rey on 1st Nov and my office hours would be by 4pm.
