Music is as important as the air we breath. This is why it is very important for kids to be exposed to music at a young age. Ages 1 to 3 is the best time you should introduce your child to music.

Exposing your child to simple music is not hard. Sharing with him or her a simple song that encourage simple hand movement will sure bring a smile to your child’s lips. Maybe you haven’t realized it yet, but your lap as  a parent is the best instrument to play music with.

Believe it or not, but your child greatly appreciates music by their parents out of a simple tapping and simple music sung by parents, this is true even if parents can’t carry a tune that well.

By the way, Mel Bay Books is one of the great books you can find that teaches great songs and music to children. I can truly attest to that because I have proven it with my 4-year old kid.

Harlem Shake

Harlem Shake

The newest craze on YouTube nowadays, is the so-called Harlem Shake.  Most of us have seen it either via YouTube or via news on TV either elaborating about it or giving criticisms. However, if you haven’t encounter those from TV and YouTube, how much do you really know the Harlem Shake.

You won’t believe it but Harlem Shake have been arround for more than 30 years. Originally, it was a Hip Hop dance characterized by wild arm movements including the upper body. There was even a time that it was referred to as “Albee”.  “Albee” is the producer from Brooklyn, NY whose name is Harry Rodrigues.  Harry is also known with his alias as Baauer and he was only 23 years old. Al B used to dance at the Entertainer’s Basketball Classic at Rucker Park in Harlem in 1981 and this is where and when the original and popular Harlem Shake started its story.

On the other hand, the video released in 2012 did not receive much fame until the born of the infamous video posted in YouTube on Feb 2, 2013. Though it was also called the Harlem Shake, it was too much different from the original form of the African-American dance that originated from Harlem.  At one point in 2003, on of Al B’s interviews he explained that the dace was copied from the movements of mummies in Egypt who can only do much of shaking their bodies because they are  wrapped up or tapped up all over their bodies. “…the couldn’t really move, all they could do was shake.” according to Al B.

We all know now that the rumored Coldplay concert in Manila is not true, but how did it started to become a rumor.

A certain Roe Alfaro made a poster for his Computer Graphic class with a tag line “Light will bring you home”.

Here is the poster created by Roe Alfaro.  On the poster is the date when the concert will be which is on 18th April 2011 at Smart Araneta Coliseum .  Price of the tickets were given and even put Dayly Entertainment as the event organizer.

Dayly Entertainment denied the validity of the poster and confirmed that they do not have any confirmed schedule of the concert in Manila.

“We would like to inform everyone that the poster of Coldplay Live In Manila being spread around in social media sites is a HOAX! PLS RT” Dayly Entertainment (@Dayly_ent) shouted in tweeter on Sunday night.  It was also noted on facebook that they are planning to push  legal action against Roe Alfaro.

Recently I posted the pictures we had during our 4th year anniversary that we celebrated in Pamana Restaurant in Tagaytay.  I have not mentioned about the gift I got from my hubby for our anniversary.  So here you go, I will let you get a glimpse of the picture.

There you go, a three-red-roses bouquet of flowers bundled in pink silk-like wrapper. This is the 2nd bouquet of flowers I got from my husband.  First one was on our 1st wedding anniversary. Of course I still have a picture of it and I would feel guilty not to show it off here.

I think I will be collecting pictures of bouquet of flowers from my hubby during our whole marriage life.  He does not give this to me very often, and it feels like I am getting trophies whenever I get one from him.  But of course, here is the best trophy I got…we both got this one.

Hello Blog Followers, I got another juicy item about Charice.  Here is the post that I am reposting from here.

The Votes are in…Charice is J-14 Magazine’s Icon of Tomorrow!

Thank you and congratulations CIA (Charice Internet Army), you have done it again! Charice is the winner of J-14 magazine’s Icon of Tomorrow Award! Yes, you heard correctly – she won, she won, she won! We asked you to vote and you responded. You responded just as you had when we asked you to vote for her to win the “Best Oprah Show Musical Performance” award! Last December, teen singing sensation Charice thanked her fan base Chasters after she edged global singing stars in the ‘Best Oprah Show Musical Performace’ award. Charice beat Whitney Houston, James Taylor, Michael Bublé, Journey, and the Black Eyed Peas in the online poll on Oprah.com, receiving 70% of the votes for her ‘Note to God’ performance. The Black Eyed Peas received only 9% of the votes. They clearly do not have an Internet Army like Charice does.
J-14 Magazine is the #1 teen celebrity magazine and our Charice is pictured in the December issue several times. The December issue is now available so make sure to get your copy today! The winners of all of the J-14 Teen Icon 2010 Awards are featured, including Charice, the Icon of Tomorrow! Glee, which features our Charice as Sunshine Corazon, won as Iconic TV Show. There is also a feature on the College Class of 2010 which asks the young stars what they would be doing if they were actually attending their freshman year of college right now. The magazine states that Charice is taking online classes working towards her bachelor’s degree in communications. Charice is also featured in the piece “14 Seconds With the Stars” where they were asked to name the best gift they have ever given. Charice replied with, “I gave a laptop to the fan who first posted my videos on YouTube.”

There is only one more outstanding favor we had asked of you and that was to vote to win Charice an official spot as a top five nominee for the 2011 People’s Choice Awards as Breakout Music Artist of the Year. We also asked you to vote for her in other categories – Favorite Pop Artist, Female Artist, Web Celeb, and Favorite Song (Pyramid). Voting has ended so all we can do is wait. The official nominees in all categories will be named on November 9th. We will find out then if the Charice Internet Army can maintain their perfect voting record. Let’s hope so!

BEIJING – The newest Miss World is from the United States.

Alexandria Mills, Miss World

Alexandria Mills, a soft-spoken 18-year-old, was named the winner in Saturday night’s contest in southern China. The tall blonde was a relative surprise winner after speculation focused on other contestants.
Second place went to Emma Wareus of Botswana, and Adriana Vasini of Venezuela came third.
The host country’s own contestant, Tang Xiao, also was among the final five.
According to a brief biography on the Miss World website, Mills calls Louisville, Kentucky, her hometown, and she recently graduated from high school. She would like to become a teacher.

“I’ve never met a stranger and enjoy meeting new people,” she says in the bio.
For the final, she was wearing a shimmering ivory-colored dress slit up the leg.
Mills takes over the title from Kaiane Aldorino of Gibraltar, who was named Miss World 2009 at a ceremony in South Africa last December.

Women from more than 100 countries participated in the contest, organizers said.

This is the 60th year of the Miss World Competition, and organizers brought back contestants from past decades to give the night a retrospective theme.
