Yes, I know I have shared already a weekend getaway of me and Gab just a couple of posts ago, but I can help but share again another weekend getaway of me and Gab and this time with Papa Rey. Yesterday was my father-in-law’s birthday and the whole family escaped the city and went to Morong, Bataan. It was a bit long trip but it was full of fun and tiredness, whoa!

I missed taking pictures of the family at the beach and the pool because I was asleep for two hours inside our room. It was first time to sleep in a bed after my Friday shift work. (Yes, it’s already Sunday when I slept because Gab and I went straight to Pampanga on Saturday morning and arrived home on the wee hours of Sunday. Just a couple of hours after we hit the road going to Bataan).

Our usual family bonding and routine every weekend is to pay a visit to Rey’s office after a good stroll at the mall.  Since Rey is now with the Sapphire Bloc construction group, Robinson’s Galleria is our choice every Saturday. Megamall is too far from the construction site and Gab will always complain walking from the mall to Rey’s office.

Gab is still in his hyper mode when we get to the office and I was able to convince him to try on his father’s hard had and reflectorized jacket. He was happy to walk around the office and show off his costume to his father’s co-engineer.

I am sure he will be able to pull it off as an officer when he grows up. I suddenly thought that he will be able to have a good management style in case we buy auto lifts in the future and he will be able to manage it for the family. Don’t you think I am too wishful to think about it for now.

Yes, my dear friends and family! Gab’s birthday get away at Watercamp Resort (as if the place was so far far far away kung makagetaway lang!) was successful. Gab and his cousins (Yma, Matthew and Leila) were all so happy and tired at the end of the day. Swimming, running, climbing are what made them busy all day.

Forgive me for not being able to take any pictures of the family activity. I know it is something that is hard to forgive but sadly no one was able to hold a camera since we are all busy. Maybe I should say that the old me who used to take all the pictures from every angle of any family activity were all gone. Or it could only be just because I don’t have a decent phone to use to take the camera.

We’ll I guess both fact are true, not having a decent camera to use to take pictures makes me lousy about taking pictures. To add more, taking care of the kids does not allow me to hold my camera at all times.

Christmas 2011 is the 3rd Christmas  we celebrated with Gab. Of course, it’s one of the happiest we’ve had. Especially now that Gab is more sensible to talk with. He can say a lot of things already in less than 3 years of age.

It may have been a little late to show our gratitude to all of Gab’s sponsors last year. But its always OK to be late, than never say thank you at all.

  • Thank you Tito Jeff and Tita Jeng for my new red shirt, that’s my very first red shirt.
  • Thank you Mommy Giselle for the Ben10 toy car, (i love to watch Ben10 on TV) and for the cash of course.
  • Thank you Ate Yma for the nice sleeveless shirt. I love the color.
  • Thank you Kuya Matthew and Baby Leila for giving me Butterfly. I use it every night when I sleep.
  • Thank you Ninong Randolf for the cash…(we’ll deposit it to the bank).
  • Thank you Lola Nanayand Lolo Be  for the Yoyo and the cash…(I’ll put it in the bank as well.)
  • Thank you Ninang Diane for the Human Nature sanitizer and shampoo...(promise, I won’t share it with Papa).
  • Thank you Tita Eliza for all of Mama’s kris kringle’s gifts…I’m sorry, I broke Santa in less than 30 minutes after I opened the gift.
  • Thank you Ninang Lea for the sando and shorts.
  • Thank you Papa for all of my ‘pamasko’.
  • If there is anyone we were not able to mention, Thank so much for the bottom of our hearts. Bear with Mama, she is forgetful but Papa and me loves her much.

My family’s love for music cannot be denied. All of have a great inclination for music. Most of my cousins, Aunties and Aunt are music lover.  Not only that they like listening to music, they are also good singers.

I did not have the talent in singing but I have an ear for music and when I hear someone sing I always listen to the heart that is singing.

Two more months from now and it will be the anniversary of my uncle, I used to call him Tatay Pedio. Reason being is he my poster father. His name appears on my birth certificate as a father. But that is another long long story, I will reserve to tell you one day.

My Tatay Pedio  gave me an antique guitar that I still have until now. According to him this beautiful guitar has been with him for almost 40 years already. (He told me that when he was still alive and it has been 5 years already since he was gone. So you can imagine now how antique is my guitar.)  I can still same type and design of guitar when I window shop at Yamaha music store outlets, just that mine needs some grooming to make the guitar look better. I once saw this marshall cabinet casters and I am sure this will be  nice if I get one so I can store the guitar in a much safer place.

Without me realizing it, pizza just like hamburgers have so much affected my way of living.  I secretly wanted to become a crew in pizza hut way way back.  But I never tried to apply because I think pizza hut crews are ideally taller than I am.

Rey used to work for Greenwich, another fast food for pizza in the metro.  He used to work there when he was still in college. Even if he still likes to continue to work after he ended  his contract, his time did not permit him.  I guess engineering students needs more time to study especially when they are about to graduate.

By the way, we had our first date in Sabarro in Robinson’s Ermita.  So that is another pizza parlor we tried.  And even now, we still love to dine at pizza parlors.

This one was when we were trying to pass time in Pizza Hut Robinson’s Imus

Rey celebrated his 32nd birthday in Pizza Hut SM Masinag..whew…that’s all the way from Cavite :)

I think I should get some pizza restaurant equipment that we can use at  home so we can make pizza too.  Its going to be pizza day at home if this will happen, its going to birthday celebration everyday.

Gab’s Daily Routine

At age two and a half, Gab was able to develop a routine already. This is something that he does on a daily basis with me and his nanny when I am not around and on every other day with Rey.  Rey comes home from work every other day due to work load and the distance of his work place to our home.

Due to my work schedule, Gab is used to wake up ahead of me during weekdays.  He will go out of our room and look for his nanny while I’m asleep. If nanny is not doing the laundry, she will play with Gab in the living room until I wake up. But if nanny is doing the laundry, he will play with his toys or watch TV until I get up.

Funny but there is something with boxes kids love so much.

Gab is used to taking his bathe in the morning. This is after I am finish with my breakfast, lucky me if Gab will join me with my breakfast.  Sometimes he asks for a glass of milo and some bread (pandesal).

Rey bathes Gab on Sunday’s when he is at home.

Gab knows that when its Sunday, its Rey’s time to join him playing while taking his bath. When this happens, I am so tempted to get wholesale dental supplies because they will play with anything in the bathroom.  Toothpastes are not excused.  There was one time Gab spread toothpaste all over the bathroom and there was nothing I can do.  They made be believe mother have the longest patience to be challenged.

Gab is also used to me leaving early in the afternoon during weekdays.  When I leave, he will voluntarily stop playing to take his afternoon nap. He will be excited to wait for Rey when he arrives in the evening because its going to be another endless playtime until they both get so sleepy.

The Addicted Gab

I wonder why kids are so good in techy stuff and gadgets and games, I can’t do anything but to envy.

You can guess who’s playing the tablet just by looking at the hands right?  I can tell you, Gab knows how to find Angry Birds and turn it on.

Now look at what he is doing on the laptop.  He is so into his game and laughing like he will never laugh again.

Almost everyday, when Rey comes home from work, Gab will inspect his bag to find the PSP or the tablet.  If he can’t find it their, he will drag the medical step stool in front of the drawers and check it all one by one, just to find what he is looking for and be able to play his games.

There was one night when I woke up at 3am and caught him playing the tablet while we’re asleep.  I did not think that he will find the tablet under my pillow and wake up just to play with it.  Good thing, he was just starting to play and I did have a hard time convincing him to go back to sleep.

The Sunday Gab and Rey is waiting for happens today.  The slot machines at Tom’s World of Fun are happy to see them holding their tokens and peso coins.  Of course the franchise owner is much more happier when kids are happy to go back to them regularly.

And while they are playing I went to the supermarket for a quick grab of what we are missing in the kitchen.  Then I waited for them at Pizza Hut.  The generous crew, whom I failed to note the name allowed me to sit on a table near an electric plug so I can plug my laptop when it runs out of battery.  I patiently waited for the student in nursing uniforms to vacate the table for me.

When Gab and Rey arrived, they attacked the pizza I have on the table and Gab played some computer games.

Again, another weekend enjoyed by the whole family together.

Two more days to go and its Sunday again.   I was talking to Rey over the phone earlier and he mentioned that he and Gab will again go to Robinson’s mall in Imus.  Remember what I told you previously regarding our Sunday Family Time Together, Rey is head over heels  for Tom’s World Arcade.  I surely don’t want my son to learn that all the coins and tokens he sees should go to the slot machines at the arcade.  I want to him to learn how to save at an early age.

A smart mom should know how to guide a misguided kid. I chance this opportunity when Gab choose this blue piggy bank over an angry bird toy in Puregold few days ago when we bought his milk.  So now, instead of thinking of dropping his coins to the slot machine, he is now dropping any and all the coins he sees at home into  his piggy bank.  We owe a birthday party for our kid on his third birthday, this is his first actually. I am happy to have  an invitationbox.com party invitations since I find it so cool.  Hope Gab is happy to spend some of his savings for the invites.
