I never thought we will be out the whole day today.  As far as I can remember, I asked Rey on Saturday evening to wake me up early on Sunday so we can attend the 9:30 mass.  We were able to attend the mass even if we were late for about 15 minutes and we were happy to see my Uncle’s whole family with my Lola in the church.  After the mass, I told my Lola to go with us in the sedan because she is having a hard time getting in the van of my Uncle, a bit hard for her to lift herself inside the van.

We stayed for a few minutes with my lola while we were waiting for Rey to come back from our house, I forgot to bring my laptop with us and I really have to have it so I can do some work while Rey and Gab plays in the mall.  Its our first time to visit ATC with Gab.   I’m sure if I have a netbook instead of a laptop, I can just have it my bag and carry it all the time.  I wouldn’t want the best netbooks available in the shop, its too risky nowadays, an ordinary and cheap will do for me.

We left my Uncle’s place before lunch time so we can have our lunch on time in ATC.  I never realized, its really a quick drive from Mambog, Bacoor to Ayala Town Center in Alabang.  My kid did not have much sleep along the way, we had to wait for him to wake in the parking lot before we head on, you know, just to save us from the best tantrum Gab can throw if we force him to wake up.

At about 4pm, we hit the road going to Laguna, a nice 45-minute-drive from the mall to our house.  We took some of our things and left a “FOR RENT’ signage again.  I still feel sad because we never get to live in our home.  Its too far from our work place and Rey just can’t let me drive the unlighted streets alone in the wee hours of the morning on my way home from work everyday.

An hour after, we’re on our way home to Cavite.  Rey is happy to catch his fave ball team B-Meg on air.   Though its tiring being out the whole day, I’d say its one of best family’s day out.  Gab enjoyed his tour from the church to the mall and to our place in Laguna.  He loves to joy ride a lot.

My deepest apology, I’ve not been blogging a lot lately because of a lot things that keeps me busy. I made a list below to enumerate a few, honestly, I am looking forward to scratch the listed things here one by one.

-trying hard to efficiently plan the coming move to Laguna, which will be on the evening of February 19
-practice driving as often as I could, I am not yet confident that I can drive home from work going home to Binan, Laguna
-studying the business I just got into, though I am phasing really due to a lot of things to do simultaneously.
-catching up with good old friends and making up with the lost time

Of all the things listed here, its just catching up with friends that I really enjoy and look forward to.  Two weeks ago, Rey and I meet with our highschool friends in Makati.  Last Sunday, I met with Ate Fe in Megamall, she is one of good friends in PLDT Parlance, we used to work there years ago.   I am even guilty of using our hp printers in the office to make a copy of photos way way back to share it with Ate Fe.

An excited molecule.  That’s how I feel about moving to Laguna next month.  Excited yet pressured and worried about how we will put everything in place.  Its going to be another major cleaning and fixing of our things at home to make it all fit inside the house.

Funny thing is, we do not have any cabinet fixings and furnitures yet.  Our cleopatra style sofa is already old and overused and Gad had had some crayon scratchings on it.  I wonder how it feels when you have good nice sofa in your sala and you can sit comfortably or even lay down while watching TV.  Oh, i’m so dreamy!  I wonder if sofas where king and queen sits in fairy tale stories are covered with microfiber upholstery fabric.  Do you think they had it during their times?  Maybe it would be best if i just have our old cleopatra re-upholstered.

You think this one will be an elegant choice of design for our cleopatra?  Hopefully I will find this in my local upholstery shop.  My boys will be sitting like a king on this one!

Several times I have mentioned that we will soon move to our place in Laguna.  And it should be anytime soon.  Until now, the family who’s renting the place still can’t find a new place to move in to.  Last I heard from them is they are hoping to move out before the 15th of January, that would be on Saturday.

Our current place have a very nice tiles flooring, ours in Laguna is just finished cement.   See that picture below, my son loves to walk the floor barefooted.  Hopefully we get to discuss this soon,  I have to ask Rey what kind of flooring we will have in Laguna.  I have heard of glass tiles before but I am not sure what it really is.

One of the best investment that Rey and I had for 2010 is his new baby, the car that we bought after our birthdays.  I never thought in my whole life that I will experience having my own, or our own car as early as this.  We are happy enough being able to make both ends meet until we finally realized that its time we move in to our place in Laguna.  And since we both work in Manila, we need to have our own transportation, especially me who have the most irregular schedule at work.   There’s no means of transportation anymore in Laguna by past ten pm, yet my office hours is between 3 o’clock in the afternoon up to twelve midnight.

We initially planned to move in early this year, at least within January.  That is why I need to learn driving as soon as I can.  Unfortunately, Rey and I have no enough time to practice, not the mention the tight schedule during the holidays.   Not only driving lesson is what I need. Its a necesity to learn about traffic rules,  road signs,  road maps.  Not to mention basic trouble shooting, basic terminologies that has something to do with vehicles.  I am getting overwhelmed just by the thought of it.  Cars and driving are something I am not prepared of.  Unfamiliar words like  chassis, stencils, brembo and what ever you may call it, scares me a lot.  I’ve heard of them but I do not have a very good explanation of what exactly it is.

I hope Rey’s baby cooperates with me well.  Here she is when she blessed in Antipolo church.

I am getting more excited in moving to our place in Laguna next year. Hopefully anytime in January we can move already, that is if our tenant will vacant the place early.  Then we can do the cleaning, renovating and preparing the place for moving in.

Our place in not that big, its not what you can imagine as a fenced unit inside a subdivision.  What we bought is a row house, one of a five unit row house and ours is in the middle part.   Sad to say I do not have a garden to grow plants and veggies on my free time. Instead I thought of going hydroponics, oops sorry for being technical.  Hydroponics is coined Greek word, hydro means water and  ponos meaning labor.  This is an impressive way of growing plants using water with mineral nutrient solutions. I think I can set up my roof top for this.

Check these nutrients I found online, they will be very helpful to my new garden.

Dreaming….

I didn’t thought that I would love to think of  furnishing our house in Laguna.  I believed that as long as I have my own house, I will be happy enough and contented with what I have.  But I know I am sometimes dreamy.  I previously blogged about the faucets that I would love to install in my kitchen and restroom, here.  And now, as I am browsing to kill time, I came across this lovely floor register, I think I fell in love with the one that is made out of solid brass.

I know I am being impossible with this one.  No one uses floor register here in the country due to our tropical weather.  I wonder if houses in Baguio City have this.  If I’d have a house in Europe, crossing my fingers, I will buy the best floor register they sell. I got a good website where I found beautiful and lovely floor register here.

Going Home

It feels good to think that we are going home to our place in Laguna by next year.  We’ve visited the place yesterday to let our tenants know of our plan.  Thankfully, they agreed to just consume their remaining rental fee at the place.

Once we moved, I will only think of few things to spend to, I can cross out the monthly rental fee that we spend here are our current place in Cavite.  I am also thinking of another thing to cross out of our miscellaneous list, that is if I can put up an electric pump for our water supply.  Water supply  in our subdivision is much expensive compared to Maynilad that is for public use.  If I am rich enough, I’ll  have commercial pumps instead and convince our neighbors to tap their water connection to us.  I won’t charge them as much as expensive as they are currently paying, only just enough to cover the electric usage and a small amount to maintain the pump. Is it going to be a great help?

Home Sweet Home

Come next year, we have plans of moving to our very own house in Biñan, Laguna.  I don’t want to admit, especially to Rey that I am really excited.  All my life, I never lived in a house I can say mine except in my Lola’s house in Bicol where I spent most of  my childhood years.

I am planning to do minor renovations in our house, just recently my tenants mentioned that we need to change the leaking faucets.  Grohe faucets would be lovely in my tiled kitchen and washroom. Gab’s loves to play water in the faucet but that would be dealt later on.

Dishwashing would never be a problem if I have these lovely Ghoho faucets………
