Having your own hot tub at home is surely a wonderful gift you can give to yourself and it will more fun if you will receive this as a gift.

Your hot tub should also come along with spa cover. Having this will give many advantages and will make you feel more secure all the time. Below are the reasons why you would like a spa cover for your hot tub.

1. Prevent drowning. While your spa is not in use or not being supervised, it is very attractive for both children and adult. Of course, you don’t anyone coming to your attractive tub, not even your lovely pet and get drown. All you need to have a well fitted spa cover to prevent any bad incident.

2. Germs and Bacteria. Covering the spa when not in use prevent foreign object from floating in the water. If you spend time in cleaning the water of your spa, covering it will also save you time because you don’t need to do major cleaning job for it. Foreign object falling in the tub will become bacteria which may cause illness for those who will use the spa. Putting spa cover to your tub put all these worries away.

3. Prevent Other Accidents. covering the tub also prevent sharp object from entering the water without your knowledge. So if you are using your spa barefooted, you wouldn’t want all those sharp object meeting your defenseless feet at the bottom of the spa.

There you go, better get your spa cover now because we don’t want you regretting for anything in the future.

If having typhoon in the greater Manila area means going home early from work. Not in my case and not in most call center employees.  It may be hard to think about and much harder if you are the one in the situation. Today a strong typhoon is hitting Manila area and to help us employees, my company releases these kind of advise to all employees.

HSSE Advisory: Typhoon Pedring

Dear All,

1. This information has been sourced from the PAGASA Website.”

2. Location of the Storm: 100 KM EAST OF BAGUIO CITY

3. Metro Manila is still under Typhoon Signal No. 2

4. You already know that there are heavy rains, and more rains are expected, so be mindful to be safe. Please make your respective necessary arrangements relevant to such severe weather.

5. “Heavy rains are expected to continue. Thus, travel conditions going to and from the office may be affected. Everyone is encouraged to factor in the weather when planning trips and logistics (e.g. prepare for rain, floods & traffic jams, and bring extra food & clothes).

Again, to reiterate, Storm Signal advisories do not automatically signify the invoking of BCP(business contigency plan) or any changes to the norms of work schedule. Any changes to the norms of work schedule, feel free to take it up with your respective Line Managers.

I guess its worth sharing this one, hope its useful to my readers.

To add more, shuttle services are arranged to pick up and send employees to and from work  when needed.  Since shifts at  work covers the working hours in the UK which is between  3pm to 1am PH time, this is a necessity in times like this.  If by any chance shuttle services are not available, I think my company would still send horses and riders in equestrian apparel to pick up and send employees to and from work.  But of course this is too exagerated, what I am just trying to say is they will try their best to encourage us to go to work becuase the business my go on.

The recent trip to Bicol we had about three weeks ago gave us a chance to discover a lot of things we need to improve on our car. Even on the very first trip to Bicol we had early this year, my Uncle already noticed that we don’t have enough light when driving along provincial road because we are only using 55W bulb installed on the car’s headlight.  I guess we had had enough difficulty three weeks ago when we were caught on heavy rains along the roads of  Atimonan, Quezon.  We ran at 10kph while we were totally blinded by the heavy rain fall.  Finally, Rey gave in to change bulb to a higher wattage and what’s more important is we are using the yellow lamp/light.  This type has the capacity to penetrate lights even on heavy rains.  Having full tinted windshield affects visibility too, from the inside of the vehicle, but  Rey stressed he does not want any changes on the tint and I can put up with that.  I feel safer now knowing we have a nice bulb that will not allow us to have a betterview along the road.  We certainly don’t want any accident to happen.

Along the road, my Uncle were giving me lectures left and right about prioritizing safety along the road.  Finally, when I told Rey about bad our experience during the heavy rain, he gave in to upgrade the bulb of the car.  I got a really nice brand of bulb for the headlight from atv power steering website.  They offer different accesorries for heavy duty vehicles which you can hardly find at supermarkets.  The bulb we need was shipped out in no less than 24 hours.

Welcome home, Baby.  Promise, I wont hurt you again!!!

The car finally got home today after a nice repair from the auto shop.  Comparing the car from its old photos here, it now looks clean and brand new and beautiful.

Safety First

Safety measures at home are not something that we take for granted. My husband Rey is a Safety Supervisor in his office and I work for an oil company that is very conscious when it comes to safety measures. Not to mentioned that we have a year and half kid whose curiosity level is bigger than his parents.

Here are some examples of safety measures we have that I think is worth sharing:

-sharp objects are always kept in higher place to prevent Gab from seeing it and asking to play with it
-screen door is always hooked, my boy loves to push doors
-we only use foam instead of a bed, Gab rotates like a clock when asleep
-safety gloves are my nanny’s best friend. Can you imagine her using a safety gloves when ironing the clothes?
-LPG tank is tightly closed when not in use.
-electric outlets are covered with cabinets or behind the sofas
-center tables or side tables were put away to avoid temptation for my little climber
-emergency phone numbers are displayed and easy to be found in case of emergency
-emergency money is available, at least enough to for a tricycle fare to rush to the nearest hospital or to our nearest relative
-we use wall fans instead of desk fans, these are also great space savers

All these safety measures worked for me very well. As my child gets older, he discovers lots of things every day. We just make sure that we are watching him all the time, even when asleep to prevent any untoward incidents.

Have U ever heard about LPG gas cylinder’s expiry date….!!
Do you know that there is an expiry date (physical life) for LPG cylinders? Expired Cylinders are not safe for use and may cause accidents. In this regard, please be cautious at the time of accepting any LPG cylinder from the vendor.

Here is how we can check the expiry of LPG cylinders:

On one of three side stems of the cylinder, the expiry date is coded alpha numerically as follows A or B or C or D and some two digit number following this e.g. D06.

The alphabets stand for quarters –

1. A for March (First Qtr),

2. B for June (Second Qtr),

3. C for Sept (Third Qtr),

4. D for December (Fourth Qtr).

The digits stand for the year till it is valid. Hence D06 would mean December qtr of 2006.

Please Return Back the Cylinder that you get with a Expiry Date, they are prone to Leak and other Hazardous accidents …

The second example with D13 allows the cylinder to be in use until Dec 2013 .
Kindly pass this to every one,
and create awareness among the public

Thanks to my colleague Krizabeth Valmadrid who sent me an email regarding this.  Hope it will be helpful to all of us.
