Philippine Congressman and WBO welterweight boxing champion Manny Pacquiao is greeted by Filipino flood victims during a relief distribution at a village in Cagayan de Oro City, southern Mindanao, in December 2011.

When Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao announced recently that his next fight would be against vegan boxer Tim Bradley – disappointing fans who are holding out hope for a Pacquiao v. Floyd Mayweather Jr. showdown – he hinted he would consider retirement soon.  Now, fans in his home base of the Philippines are wondering: What’s his plan if he does leave the ring for good?

The ultimate prize, at least according to some of his biggest fans: The presidency.

Already his country’s most famous lawmaker, Mr. Pacquiao was elected to the Philippines Congress in 2010, and he is widely revered in the country as more than just a boxer, but a national hero. At a press conference announcing his June 9 fight with Mr. Bradley – which will be Pacquiao’s 60th bout – the Filipino boxer said he would consider retirement in November.

So it was hardly a surprise that fans and a few boxing experts guessed he was thinking of bigger things in the political ring, and ultimately Pacquiao for President in 2022, the year when he will be eligible to run for the country’s highest office.

Bobby Brown left Newark, N.J.’s New Hope Baptist Church shortly after Whitney Houston’s funeral started. In a statement put out by his representative today, he explained, “My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston.  We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions.”

He continued, “I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move.  Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur.” I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.”

The TV Series Walang Hanggan is now becoming something that I always see on TV.  This is due to the fact that I am always at home and stays as a seasonal “full time mom”  to Gab. Seasonal because I do not go to work for almost two weeks now. Do not envy me, I will be in a weeks time. My sick leave is almost finish and I will be back in the office next week.

What is not very good if you are watching some tv series is you are being haunted by it and cannot avoid to watch it again. I did not pick this tv series, it’s my nanny’s favorite but now I am being hooked on the story as well.

The twist of the story is between a love triangle among the roles of Helen Gamboa, Susan Roces and Eddie Gutierrez. There is also a love triangle among Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta and Rita Avila. And another love triangle among Coco Martin, Paulo Avelino and Julia Montes. Oh my gosh, I just noticed now that this is story is so full of love triangle. I hate the fate of Coco Martin as the long lost son of Dawn and Richard. He could have been lying on a heated mattress pads when the weather is cold and not in the colds streets  had he not been put away by Helen Gamboa who is his true grand mother.

I guess, I will keep on watching this as long as I am on vacation because see it when my nanny is watching the series.

The news about the filming of ” Bourne Legacy” in the Philippines have been all around the local news for almost a month now. People have expressed excitement as well as dismay regarding this but now, the official teaser have come out and can be seen from anywhere online.

I have watched all the three others Bourne movie and I admit that I personally prefer Matt Damon doing the role. If it has been Matt Damon who was shooting here the country, I could have been watching the filming along the highway of EDSA even it it could me I would end up staying in the “silver bars” for disobeying traffic rules of the MMDA.

Let us see each other on the showing date. Rey said, he is going to see the movie to see the scenes shoot in the country so I will go with him.

The whole world of the music industry was shocked upon hearing the sudden death of the award winning and legend in music industry Whitney Houston. I personally agree that songs sung by Whitney have touched our lives in beautiful ways. I remember as a child that the first song I was able to remember well is her very own, Greatest Love of All.

Whitney Houston left the world of music at age 48, found unconscious by her hair dresser in her tub couple of days before the Grammy Award’s night. Up to this date, there are no results yet being released as the cause of her death and according to authority, it may come out in the coming days. There are no issues as well that suggests any foul play in the said incident.

Whitney had sold over 170 million albums and singles worldwide (can you imagine how Epson TM-T88V POS machine have printed all receipts for these sales).  No wonder will all these songs being sold, she is really is a wonder in the world of music.  Honestly, I don’t know anyone who does not know any song from Whitney Houston.

Whitney, may you rest in peace and we will all remember you.

On the 25th anniversary celebration of the Philippine Information Agency, PNoy admitted that he is dating Grace Lee.

If you do not know Grace Lee, she is a TV host and radio Dj and co-anchor of DJ Mo Twister in the radio show Good Times with Mo. Grace is of Korean descent but she had been in the country since she was 10 years old.

This is how the President responded when he was asked about the date: “Well, we are seeing each other. I’ll leave it at that. Even our Constitution provides for the right to privacy. Maybe you can spare me some of that right under Article 3.”

This has been confirmed also by Grace, saying that they are seeing each other.

My new favorite film is shooting its fourth movie in the Philippines. I once saw their set up along Quirino Avenue in Malate, Manila. Too bad the bus I was riding at was too fast I was not able to see the whole set. Plus, my son Gab is asleep on my lap. All the more I have no chance to stand up and look back.

I am happy to see this photo from friends blog. Sadly, the caption on the picture says that the production crew fined for illegal parking while on shoot at the corner of EDSA and Taft Ave. If I was part of the production crew I’d give the MMDA officers some swisher sweet cigars. Probably they’ll change their mind and just watch the shoot.
