Toys

Remote Control Cars are famous hobby for kids, teenagers and even adults.

Even my less than three year old Gab became addicted for a short time with this kind of toy. Back in 2010 my uncle gave Gab a remote controlled car but since he was young and does not understand the importance of the toy and how to play with it, the car was wrecked after a couple of weeks.

Last christmas, Rey bought a another remote controlled car for Gab but I opted to keep it inside the cabinet after he played on it in a couple of days. I am sure of what will happen next to the car had I not kept it. Not that we are hiding his toys but we just want his toys to last longer.

At age less than 3, we are trying to expose Gab to a lot of things including what he would like to be when he grows up. We tried it by asking him if he wants to go to school already?

I assume he has an idea what school means because our house is just in from on Breton School in Imus, Cavite. He sees children every morning going to school. He can see the things that students have like his new favorite cartoon character, Spider Man. Yes, that is his new favorite addiction after Power Rangers, Cars and Toy Story . Sometimes, if he is in good mood, he agrees going to school provided that he will have a nice bag with Spider Man on it.

I found this nursing uniform online with Spider Man on it, it’s actually one of discount scrubs offered online. So if with this one, I can convince Gab to go to school, maybe I will be convinced to purchase this online too. Probably, I’ll have it repaired to a size that will fit to a small child.

Toys for my boys

Believe it or not, Rey is no different to so many guys who loves to play games just like kids do. It was few years ago when he convinced me to buy PSP to add to his few collection of PS1 and PS2.  PS3 was not yet in the market back then but I think if during that time PS3 is already in the market he would choose to have it over his PSP.

This toy never missed going to his office with him.  It was like its part of his office-thingy that needs to be inside his back pack everyday.  He will not come back when he’s left his packed lunch  unintentionally, but he will come running back to the door upon realization that he left this toy somewhere at home.

When I asked him why he got the mint green colored PSP instead of a black or blue, he told me that it would also look good on me if I’m the one using it.  Thank you dear for being thoughtful but I’d rather watch you playing!

Now that xbox slim is out in the market, I wonder when he will add it to his collection.  I am sure Gab would love that as well and they will both enjoy playing.  On the side, I will love to watch them play instead of me struggling my best to learn the game.

Nothing wrong about these toys for me, its just that I am not really good at it.  I had a hard time learning the Super Mario on our old Nintendo and I don’t care if you find me funny.  I think this one is so beautiful  Rey and Gab would love to have.

The Engineer

My husband Rey is works as an engineer, they put up buildings.  He’s been in this job rather vocation for almost a decade and does not think of shifting to another field.  I think he enjoys it.   Sometimes I thought of him like a child, appreciating the buildings he contributed to be built like a very nice toy.   And there are times that he would really request to visit and take a look at those buildings especially when we are just within the area where he worked before.

McKinley Park Residence – Global City

Look at this one, this the McKinley Park Residence in Global City Taguig. This is first condo unit they built.  This is where he was assigned when he first become a father.

At a very young age, my son showed interest playing lego and building blocks.   I wonder if he knows that his father works to build buildings or its just something he finds fun to play with.  If Gab becomes an engineer as well, I wonder if its still buildings out of cement he will build or steel buildings.  Look at  how he enjoy with his lego.

Binoculars

When I was a child, I thought binoculars are merely toys.  My grandmother would buy me  binoculars made of plastics that I could play with my playmates.  It comes in different lovely colors.   I didn’t realize that there is something like steiner binoculars that is actually for professional use.

I am not very good in explaining but I as look at the picture, it’s very obvious that it’s created by  great minds. History claims that Phoenicians cooking on sand were the first to discover glass at around 3500 BCE.
Binoculars is an optical instrument used to magnify view of distant objects. Compared to a telescope a binocular has two identical telescopes for both eyes that is mounted on a single frame. The very first binocular telescope was invented by J.P. Lemiere in 1825.
