It  was only two years ago where most people have heard of the 2012 prediction that the world will end on 21st December 2012.  Possibly it was due to the spreading of news of the scholars who interpreted the ending of the Mayan calendar. 

 

This Mayan calendar lasted for  5125 years and gives numbers of various interpretations.  One of the most famous is the abrupt ending of the humanity on December 21, 2012.

 

It is implied that this Mayan calendar is composed of many cycles. The cycle, or baktun, of the Mayan calendar is ongoing right now started on August 13, 3114 B.C.  It is important to note that each cycle marks the ending of the current period and start of  a new one.

 

This 13th baktun, according to Mayan’s, is regarded as one of the most important to them, and may possibly be the root of having a controversial interpretation to humans—2012  end of the world theory.

 

It is a fact that there is no specific scenario on how the world will end in 2012, however, studies have revealed that this 5125 year-calendar was created by the Mayan to correspond to astronomical prediction.  Given this idea, brings to a conclusion of the theory that the world end will be contributed by something beyond our world.

 

While things  going on outside of our world is not definite, it is a fact that the Mayan culture is greatly influenced with a  vast understanding of planetary alignments and astronomy.
